HYA Boy's Travel Baseball - Spring

Lancaster County Youth Baseball League (Travel 10U, 12U, 14U) -

  1. Practices will start in late March after teams are selected from try-outs.
  2. Games start the week of Monday April 18th.
  3. All games are played in Lancaster County.
  4. Try-outs are required for all travel baseball teams.
  5. Baseball is expected to be your son's primary sport during the season.
  6. Your commitment to the team includes being available for late season playoffs, and possibly the New Era Tournament.
  7. There are a limited number of players for each travel team.
  8. Each travel level player will be provided game socks, pants, belt (if applicable), shirt, and hat as part of their paid registration.
  9. Players will be required to provide their own glove, cleats, and bat.
The league's travel levels are as follows:

10U  -  
  1. Players born between 5/1/01 and 4/30/03 are eligible for this program.   Players turning 11 years of age by April 30, 2012 are ineligible for this level.
  2. There are no guarantees your son will make a team at the 10U level.   Your son will be automatically placed in the intramural Major's program if not selected for a 10U team.   A refund will be issued for the difference between the travel and intramural fee if a player does not make the 10U travel team.
  3. Teams in this program will generally practice one or two times per week throughout the season.  Number of practices will be determined by the respective coaches.
  4. There will generally be one or two games per week during the season.   Games are generally played during the week, but make-up games may be played on the weekends.
  5. Game are played against other Lancaster County teams.
  6. Home games will generally be played at Wayside Church or Fairview Park.
  7. Metal bats at this age group at limited maximum barrels of 2 1/4 inches, and length to weight ratios (ie., -8, -10, -12 are allowed) are not limited.
  8. 2012 Post Season Playoffs will be held in June 2012 for eligible Section 1 teams.
  9. Section 2 teams do not have post season playoffs, however, have a season ending tournament on a weekend in June 2012.
  10. This level generally has at least one Section 1 and Section 2 team.

12U  -  
  1. Players born between 5/1/99 and 4/30/01 are eligible for this program.   Players turning 13 years of age by April 30, 2012 are ineligible for this level.
  2. All players signing up will be placed on a team.
  3. Teams in this program will generally practice one or two times per week throughout the season.  Number of practices will be determined by the respective coaches.
  4. There will generally be one or two games per week during the season.   Games are generally played during the week, but make-up games may be played on the weekends.
  5. Game are played against other Lancaster County teams.
  6. Home games will generally be played at West Hempfield Fire Co (Salunga Fire Co) or Fairview Park.
  7. Some teams may participate in local weekend tournaments.
  8. Metal bats at this age group at limited maximum barrels of 2 1/4 inches, and length to weight ratios (ie., -8, -10, -12 are allowed) are not limited.
  9. 2012 Post Season Playoffs will be held in June 2012 for eligible Section 1 and Section 2 teams.
  10. Section 3 teams do not have post season playoffs, however, have a season ending tournament on a weekend in June 2012.
  11. Section 1 team are eligible for the season ending New Era Tournament to be held July 8, 2011 - July 19, 2011 (rain dates may apply after these dates).
  12. This level generally has a Section 1, Section 2 and more than one Section 3 teams.

14U  -  
  1. Players born between 5/1/97 and 4/30/99 are eligible for this program.   Players turning 15 years of age by April 30, 2012 are ineligible for this level.
  2. All players signing up will be placed on a team.
  3. Players on a High School roster are not eligible for the 14U level.
  4. Try-outs are not required for this level, however, evaluations may be held to balance certain teams.
  5. Teams in this program will generally practice one or two times per week throughout the season.  Number of practices will be determined by the respective coaches.
  6. There will generally be one or two games per week during the season.   Games are generally played during the week, but make-up games may be played on the weekends.
  7. Game are played against other Lancaster County teams.  Traveling is limited within Lancaster County.
  8. Home games will generally be played at A Herr Park or Fairview Park.
  9. Some teams may participate in local weekend tournaments.
  10. Metal bats at this age group at limited maximum barrels of 2 5/8 inches, and length to weight ratios of no greater than -3 (ie., -4, -6, -10 are allowed) are not limited.   Exceptions apply at Section 3 levels.   Please check with your son's coach at the start of the season prior to purchasing a bat.
  11. 2012 Post Season Playoffs will be held in July 2012 for eligible Section 1 and Section 2 teams.
  12. Section 3 teams do not have post season playoffs, however, have a season ending tournament on a weekend in June 2012.
  13. Section 1 team are eligible for the season ending New Era Tournament to be held in July 2012.
  14. This level generally has a Section 1, Section 2 and more than one Section 3 teams.

Lancaster County Midget Travel Baseball -

  1. Players born between 5/1/95 and 4/30/97 are eligible for this program.   Players turning 17 years of age by April 30, 2012 are ineligible for this level.
  2. All players signing up will be placed on a team.
  3. Teams in this program will generally practice one or two times per week throughout the season.  Number of practices will be determined by the respective coaches.
  4. There will generally be one or two games per week during the season.   Games are generally played during the week, but make-up games may be played on the weekends.
  5. Game are played against other Lancaster County teams.  Traveling is limited within Lancaster County.
  6. Home games will generally be played at the High School Varsity and JV baseball fields.
  7. Some teams may participate in local weekend tournaments.
  8. Metal bats ate this age group at limited maximum barrels of 2 5/8 inches, and length to weight ratios of no greater than -3 (ie., -4, -6, -10 not eligible).
  9. 2012 Post Season Playoffs will be held in late July.
  10. The league is broken down into a school and community league.
  11. HYA will provide one school team and one or more community teams.
  12. Teams may be eligible for the season ending New Era Tournament to be held in July 2012.
  13. The school league team is comprised of select JV players and community teams are generally comprised of players not playing JV baseball.
